In computer world, the acronym PAD means Portable Application Description, and it helps software authors provide product descriptions and specifications to online sources in a standard way, using a standard data format that will allow webmasters and program librarians to automate program listings. Thus, PAD saves time for both shareware authors and webmasters. But the problem is how to create PAD files and how to submit them online. The answer is PAD Creator, a software that allows software producers to create and publish PAD information in the easiest and quickest way possible.

The software is compatible with almost any version of the Windows operating system and takes little time to complete. The installation process is wizard based and requires only a couple of clicks to complete. It takes up about 5 MB of hard disk space and requires low system resources.

The interface of PAD Creator has a nice graphical aspect that makes it simple enough to be used by anyone. One just needs to click on the New Company button to get started. After entering the name of the company or his own name, the user can move on to entering more details regarding his software. As such, he can enter some personal information, like the city and phone number. Clicking on the second tab of the interface allows entering some information regarding the actual program, like the program's name, version, type, cost and so on. The description information can also be entered, together with the rights agreement.

After completing all the information, one can click on the verification button to make sure that the PAD information was entered correctly. He can then save the PAD information as a XML file, for being used later or he can directly submit it to certain Shareware Directories, for making his software known.

PAD Creator allows opening PAD files created using other similar programs and it can modify every aspect of them.
